Open-source campus coverage tool

Map Your
WiFi Coverage

Scan signal strength at GPS-tagged locations on your phone, push scans to the backend, and view an interpolated coverage heatmap on an interactive map.

Everything You Need

From scanning to visualization, NetRange covers the full workflow.

📡

WiFi Scanning

Capture all visible networks with BSSID, signal strength, channel, and frequency at each GPS-tagged location.

📍

GPS Tagging

Every scan is automatically tagged with precise GPS coordinates for accurate spatial mapping.

🌎

Coverage Heatmap

IDW-interpolated coverage grid visualizes signal strength across your campus with color-coded accuracy.

📱

Mobile + Web

Scan on Android, view on any device. The web dashboard embeds the same interactive Leaflet map.

📊

Signal Analytics

Track excellent, good, fair, and weak coverage zones with real-time statistics and percentage breakdowns.

🚀

Auto-Deploy

Backend on Render, web on Netlify, app on EAS. Push to GitHub and everything deploys automatically.

How It Works

Three steps to map your campus WiFi.

1

Install & Scan

Download the Android app, walk around your campus, and scan WiFi networks at different locations. Each scan captures signal strength and GPS coordinates.

2

Sync to Server

Scans are automatically synced to the Flask backend via REST API. Data is stored and deduplicated by BSSID at each location.

3

Visualize Coverage

Open the coverage map, select your network's SSID, and generate an interpolated heatmap showing signal strength across your campus.
